My AI Writing Confession

While I enjoy using AI for everyday personal and work research, I find myself refraining from letting it write a first draft.

It’s totally because of my insecurity.

I’m intimidated by AI. I think I’ll look at the draft and say, “This is good. I can’t do better.”

Recently, I had a new client whose site was written with AI.

While the search engine optimization (SEO) needed deep work, the writing wasn’t bad.

In a pinch, it would do “as is.”

As I studied the text, I thought I could do better. But a part of me was saying, “Kathy, you can’t.”

One day, I dove in. Within an hour, I had the text revised.

And it was better. Much better.

My client’s response, “Looks great.”

What that experience taught me is that I can write better than AI. And I should.

Easy Web Tip 378: Don’t let a good piece of AI writing stop you from trying to do better. You probably can.

P.S. I still don’t want AI to write first drafts.
