Every Year Update Your Copyright Dates On Your Website

This week, I’m going to give you a super quick and easy-as-pie web tip.

Please check the copyright dates in the footer of your website. You do have copyright dates on your website, right?

It should look something like this:

As you can see, when I wrote this tip, I hadn’t updated my own website yet.

Every year, you need to update it. Some websites are coded so they automatically update at the beginning of the year, which is very cool.

But not all.

So if yours is like mine, be sure to go in and update the copyright with the new year or have your webmaster do so.

Then put a note in your January tickler file to do the same thing every year.
