Anyone who has the guts to own and run a business is creative.
Creativity runs deep in the human soul. God, the Creator, made us in his own image. One of the ways in which we image him is by “creating.”
Of course, we can’t create in the same way as he, but we can take the gifts he has given us and make something new.
- That’s just what good business owners do.
- They assess their talents, abilities, and opportunities and create something new for their marketplace. For example,
- They drive past a vacant building in their town and think, that’s a great location for a gift shop.
- They take that building and fix it up with an eye to what appeals to today’s customer.
- Merchandise is thoughtfully selected.
- They display the items attractively.
- They think of new ways to market.
- They think of how to make tried and trued marketing techniques fresh.
- That’s being creative!
When it comes to developing their websites, yes, they may need help from someone like me, who helps “merchandise” the content of their sites. But often I find my job is more uncovering and fleshing out the creative work clients have already put into their businesses and then showing that off on their websites.
EASY WEB TIP #201: Recognize and appreciate the high level of creativity you bring to your business.
