Make Web Contact Information Accessible and Personal

One way to know if your website is effective is to include the cell phone numbers and email addresses of your sales staffers on your website.

A good place to do this is on your About>Staff page, where you have short descriptions of your staffers, their experience, and interests.

Most websites direct visitors to their main phone number and an info@ style email. This has an institutional tone and doesn’t set your company apart from others.

By including direct contact information, you demonstrate that your company is human, friendly, and accessible. No going through a receptionist or voice mail system.

Most likely, your staffers already have their direct contact information on their business cards, so why shouldn’t the information be on your website as well?

One of my clients who does this says, “I always know when an inquiry is coming off our website because they call my cell phone directly.”

Another likes it because of the speed. “A delay of reaching us in one day can make all the difference,” says another client.

And none of my clients have had any significant problems with junk phone calls or emails.

The only downside I can think of is that competitors might try to steal your sales talent. So you will have to take that into consideration.
